Adorned Precision Body Arts, located in the heart of East Vancouver, BC on Commercial Drive, opened it's doors in July of 2012. Since opening we have have worked steadily to build our reputation based on the quality of the services and products we offer to our clients. Proudly owned and operated by Michelle Gilmour, and her husband Rick Gilmour, it really is a love for body art that drives our studio. Rick has been a professional body piercer since 1991 (being the first professional piercer in Alberta) and his 25 years of experience is the foundation on which Adorned is built.

We are constantly sharing knowledge with our peers, updating our techniques and practices - but we also value the contemporary history of our industry and the history of body art practices throughout the world. <3

Our Story

Adorned in it's original incarnation started in Calgary, AB way back in 1999 - by then sole owner, Rick Gilmour. Rick had been working as a professional body piercer since 1991 and his love of the art drove him to open Adorned Precision Body Piercing. Back in the day, Adorned was located on 17th Avenue, a hot spot for independent businesses at the time and trendy district which boasted some of Calgary's most interesting stores. The piercing only studio, located within Eternal Image, quickly became recognized as the premier piercing studio in the region. Adorned was well known for offering precise, clean, and gentle piercing procedures, while utilizing only the highest quality implant grade body jewelry available. Even though it was a small studio, consisting of Rick and one other piercer (we love you Corey!), it boasted the largest selection of quality body jewelry in the entire province, was the first to recommend all natural aftercare and the first to perform clamp-free (freehand) piercing procedures. The reputation was deeply established within the body art community and continues to this day (even with the business having closed its doors in 2005).

The studio closure was due to the imminent demolition of the building by the landlord with ambitions to redevelop the area. So the continuing of Adorned has been long overdue and we are very excited to have Adorned thriving in Vancouver’s East side!
